Bridget - Decisions to be made about the baby

Here is the following excerpt that I just got over email. Before the new update, there was a huge praise this week. The doctors had thought the cancer had spread to Bridget's brain, but after a brain MRI and much prayer, the cancer was not there!!!! There were tears of joy and relief after the scan came back. (please don't mis-understand - the cancer is still strong in many other areas of her body, but has not spread to her brain!)

Here is the email:
I wanted to pass along a few prayer requests. As many of you know, Bridget is going back to the OB-GYN tomorrow, and they'll have to decide whether to do an emergency C-section. She is currently only at 26.5 weeks, which is still rather early. The doctors said that at this point, the baby would have a 60-75% likelihood of survival. If the baby does survive, they're also saying there is a 60-75% likelihood that he or she will have some type of major disability. Bridget and Steve have made it very clear that they want this baby, and the doctors are honoring that desire. Please pray that Bridget's placenta will be strengthened and that the baby can stay safely in her womb longer and be born healthy.

One good news. . . The OB let slip a piece of information that the oncologist had told her but not the Slotemakers. Evidently, because of the efficacy of the chemo, the oncologist increased Bridget's prognosis to one to two years. At the beginning of chemo, they were saying 9 months to a year, and so this is encouraging. But, now they have to weigh the benefit of continuing chemo (good for Bridget) with the detriment to the baby (bad for placenta). They have not yet decided whether to continue with the next chemo on Tuesday. Please pray for wisdom.
