No tumbleweeds in Boston

I opened my door this morning to be greeted by a tumbleweed. I actually stared at it for a while before I fully realized it was a tumbleweed. I am definitely in the West!

First Colorado SNOW!!!

YEAH!!! It snowed today!!!! It started out as a grey and very cold day....It felt like snow, but my hopes were dashed because around 1:15pm (mtn. time) it started raining. I hate it when it is cold and rainy! Snow is so much prettier.....Well, after having lunch with friends and running two errands, the rain changed to SNOW!!! And snow it did....There is at least 2 inches out there and I had hot chocolate while listening to Xmas music this afternoon! I am such a happy camper :) Andy is even saying we might get 4-6in by tomorrow morning!!!! YEAH!!!

Christina and Sharon come for a visit!

We had a great weekend with friends from Boston and Andy's mom in town. Sharon got here Thursday evening and stayed with us till Sunday afternoon. She had a conference to attend in the Springs and we of course love hanging out with her! Thursday night she and Andy hung out while I was in Denver meeting my Boston girlfriends for dinner (Allison, Tina and Christina) Friday, we grilled out together and watched the movie National Treasure (no comments please, I like that movie a lot!!!) ....It was a perfect Friday after a long week.

Saturday morning Sharon went off to the conference and Andy and I drove to Boulder to meet up with Christina and company. We went to the Texas Tech vs. Colorado U football game! CU was 0-6 going in to the game and Texas was 4-2.....Christina and company were all Texas Tech alum so they were feeling pretty good about the game going in. We thought we would be sitting with fellow Tech fans, but no, we were the ONLY Techs fans in the entire section! The day started out warm and sunny, just like everyone's thoughts about the game, but it was short lived.....By the end of the game Tech had lost 30-6, the fans around us were yelling at us and it was overcast, cold and drizzling! Such a bummer!!!! We drove back after the game and took Sharon to our new favorite bar.....Spankey's!!!! They have 25cent wings on Saturdays and you can get them naked, with sauce on the side..... It was a much better end to the day!

Sunday Sharon came to our church with us (http://www.iac-cs.org/) and then afterwards we went out to this little French restaurant called Le Creperie and had crepes together sitting outside in the sun! By mid-afternoon Sharon had to leave and Andy and I started gearing up for the reality of Monday morning!

Andy and I went on a date a couple weeks ago to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It was such a cool zoo. First off it is the only mt. zoo in the US and it is definitely in the mountians. I was exhausted after walking up and down steep inclines to see all the animals.

I really wanted to go and just feed the Giraffe's. It was great! Their tongues are black and pink and super long....This is one of the coolest things to do in the Springs! It was more kid friendly than a lot of zoos I have been too.

Click on the picture to see the rest of the animals! When the flickr page pops up, click on the Cheyenne Mt. set that is on the lower right side of the page. That way you can read the captions and see only the zoo photos

United Plane INSIDE a home!

I have learned that you never know what you are going to find out here in the Springs. Andrew took me to Rick Broome' s house to see some paintings that he is having done. (www.rickbroome.com)

Rick is the artist that the Air Force Academy comissions each year to do a class painting. His paintings are different and very cool.

Well, since the last time Andrew had been to see Rick, he had installed a large portion of a United plane INSIDE his house. A massive crane dropped it in the addition and then they put the roof on! I guess having a plane inside his house had been a dream for almost 30yrs!!! When the whole addition is finished there will be a special about it on National TV.....

Click the picture to see the rest of the photos......Remember, don't click on the photostream set on the flickr page.....Just click on the Rick Broome set to see the captions.

Photos from TDY in Ohio

These two girl became my best friends in Ohio! They were even more newlywed than Andy and I and we got along great. The boys spent everyday looking at mind-numbing powerpoint slides (over 3000 total) and the girls and I had a blast exploring the area. We did teas, wineries, state parks, county fairs, and shopping! They helped make the 3 weeks fly bye!

My Mom and 3 of my brothers also came to visit for a couple days which was a wonderful treat!

My NEW job!

I have a new job!!! I started today at Ann Taylor. I am really excited and working again tomorrow, although I wasn't scheduled to when I started today! They let me lose on the floor after 2 1/2 hrs of training and I worked it :)

This is a photo of where I work. It is the Ann Taylor at the Shops of Briargate. (in my mind one of the only nice places to shop!) Should be an adventure!
