At the Monterey Bay Aquarium

Yup, Asher slept for 8 HOURS last night BY HIMSELF!!!!!!! I didn't have to make him cry it out or anything. And he wasn't sleeping in our bed! I am not saying he is going to do it again, but since my child has only slept that long, one other time in 13months, I am going to announce it to the whole world and celebrate! Pray it happens again...PLEASE!

Weather

Ever noticed how the exact same weather has the ability to be annoying or not a problem based on where you live? It rained Sunday and Monday while we were in Carmel. Monday also added wind which caused the power to continually be going on and off. But was it a problem...nope! Although I have no more pictures of Carmel, since it was raining so much!

Our good friends, Doc and Laci escaped with us to Carmel and we got a fabulous 950sq ft. suite at a B & B. Sadly, Doc and Coach did not leave the suite except for food. They sat side by side and worked the entire time! And they worked the whole drive up and back to Carmel (5hrs) TPS is not so fun most days!

A little rain didn't stop Laci and I! We took Asher and went shopping! I broke out my Boston rain boots and the rain cover for my stroller and away we went. We hardly noticed the rain! Asher loved watching the rain fall on his cover and all the attention he got because of his cool stroller when we walked into stores. And at the end of the day we got to sit by a warm fire and look out the windows and see GREEN things!!! (ie, trees, bushes, grass - things I dearly miss!)

The downpour that didn't stop us in Carmel, followed to Edwards. Let me tell you it has definitely stopped us here! Everything seems depressing and dark. There is no warm fire to sit by and nothing is getting greener, because there is NO GREEN around! I am still loving the sound of rain since it happens so rarely, but it isn't nearly as magical or fun as it was in Carmel.

Escaped

We have escaped to a mini European village right here in CA.....Carmel-by-the-Sea. This town is awesome! As we walk around, I alternate between feeling like I am either in a small French town or the Cotswolds in England. Last night we got to watch a beautiful beach sunset before enjoying a yummy dinner on an outdoor patio next to a warm fire. Bliss! More pictures to come!

I do

4 years ago today I said "I do" to this man.

4 years later I would say "I do" again in less than a split second. 4 houses, 3 states, a deployment, our first child, disagreements and blessings, tears and laughter, learning to become one. It has been a very full 4 years and I look forward to at least 46 more years with joy!

So many possible captions......What do you think it should be?

Why it is not a good idea to....

Party like a ROCK STAR when you have a baby (and by "party like rock star", I mean staying up watching movies, chilling with the hubby and having friends over till between 12-2am during Christmas break)

1. It will take you days and possibly even weeks to recover...we just finished week 1 of recovery and I am thinking it will be Feb before I will be back to my "normal" tired self.

2. Because you will be in recovery mode for days and weeks

a. Laundry will become huge mounds that threaten to take over your couch, laundry room & bedroom

b. Dishes will turn into overwhelming stacks that cover all possible kitchen surfaces

c. Because the Laundry isn't getting done, you will have nothing to wear but your husband's sweatshirt and some athletic shorts.

3. You won't blog even though you have tons of amazing pictures, because you can't seem to accomplish anything in your tired haze

4. You will fall asleep on the playroom floor within an hour of walking up, allowing your super mobile child to get into all sorts of mischief, including Daddy's office.

NEVER again will I party like a ROCK STAR so many days in a row! (at least not while I have young children)
